Down with the Flu

I have been absent for two days now. I caught a nasty flu last week. My OB said I should take Biogesic every 6 hours and Cecon twice a day. Because I'm a medicine-phobic and because I thought it might harm my 17 week-old fetus, I only took Cecon. I got the flu Thursday last week but by Friday I still went to school. My body felt like giving up that time, but I stayed in school until 5 PM still. By Saturday, my husband arrived from Singapore and he urged me to take Biogesic. I still didn't even if I was obviously getting worse. I just took the medicine by Sunday with still a lot of urging from my husband. Yesterday (Monday), I decided  not to go to school because of the headache and the occasional cough plus a sore throat. I texted my OB about it and she prescribed Amoclav every 12 hours. This time, I did't have any choice but to take it, otherwise, it might boil down to pneumonia and that's the last thing I need now. Today is Tuesday, and I'm taking advantage of this day to be absent from my class, so I could rest.

I learned my lesson from this incident which is the earlier you take your medication, the better the prevention will be. I will religiously take my medications from now on.

Family Way

... And so we tied the knot last September 20, 2014. We feel so blessed because two months after, our little one decided to have his/her debut in my tummy. Now, I'm four months on the way. :-D

Wedding Update

Will I look pretty in this?

This is what Grace Clavel (my couturier) designed for me. She said the design is made to flatter my shoulders and wide chest. She's the expert one, so I ok'd it. The shoulder straps will be taken off during the reception, so I'll have a new look. I hope my soon-to-be-hubby (who'll wait by the altar) will find me dazzling and (insert another adjective synonymous to beautiful) in this.

I do

It's exhilarating yet scary. It's venturing into the unknown; every step moves you closer to that day when you know there's no turning back. You are sure because you have decided that you will love this person for the rest of your life, yet you are apprehensive of the coming storms that you'll weather together; the changes, the priorities, the time, the sacrifices, and the questions...

....So, this is what it means to be engaged.

Visitation Rights

Mia Flor Espedion here was once under my advisory class in her junior year way back in 2010. She is now a sophomore Nursing student. She came to tell me childbirth horror stories.

Jan Raymund here was one of my first STs way back in 2008. He came over with his chocolate chip cookies. He wants me to be fat like him.

It's not everyday that old students drop by at the office, so I really appreciate your visit yesterday. Thank you!

30

Today, I turned 30. I said goodbye to the decade that has been my 20s. My 20s was all about putting my passions into good use and making sure that I'm earning out of it. It was moving from one job to another until I found my rightful place under the sun. My 20s was all about building relationships and seeing them crumble right before my eyes. It was all about letting go and moving on. My 20s was all about testing my ideologies against the daily grind and see what worked and didn't. It was about learning from experiences. My 20s was all about angst, rebellion, heartbreak, and anger, yet at the same time it was all about knowledge, redemption, healing and purification. Together, they have formed the wisdom that I know will help me survive my 30s.

Today, I turned 30.
